Enjoy a delightful onboard lunch as we begin our scenic downstream cruise towards Sualkuchi. This bustling town is renowned as the "Manchester of the East" and the epicentre of Assamese silk production. An enriching afternoon walk through Sualkuchi provides a unique opportunity to visit local weaving workshops. Witness the intricate process of silk manufacturing firsthand, from cocoon and spinning to dyeing and the masterful hand-weaving of exquisite Mekhela Chadars, the traditional two-piece sari of Assamese women. As evening approaches, we'll sail upstream, docking near the impressive Saraighat Bridge, a symbol of modern engineering.

This morning, ascend Nilachal Hill to visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple, one of India's most revered centres of Tantric practices. + Day 4: Kaziranga National Park & Wildlife Safari
Today, our cruise brings us to Silghat. After a delicious lunch, we'll embark on an exciting drive to the world-renowned Kaziranga National Park. Prepare for an exhilarating jeep safari in the Western Range of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Covering approximately 430 sq km, Kaziranga is a biodiversity hotspot, home to the world's largest population of the magnificent Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros and the impressive Indian Wild Water Buffalo. It also boasts the highest density of Royal Bengal Tigers (one every five sq km), making it a crucial conservation area. Its marshy swamps and dense elephant grass provide a perfect habitat for large populations of Indian elephants, Indian bison, swamp deer, and Capped Langurs. Often compared to Africa's Serengeti for its abundant wildlife and avian diversity, Kaziranga is a true birding paradise. For those wishing to extend their stay in Kaziranga, a convenient 40-minute transfer to the park is available.
A 2.5-hour transfer to Jorhat Airport can also be arranged.
Kaziranga National Park has low-lying grassland, which may not be accessible when the river is at or near flood level.
