Perched precariously on a cliff 900m above the Paro Valley floor, this is one of Bhutan's most revered monasteries, believed to be where Guru Rinpoche meditated. Despite a fire in 1998, this "Bhutanese jewel" has been restored to its original splendor, and a visit here is considered a pilgrimage for all Bhutanese.
